Beach to Beacon 2010 - Registration Opens March 13th

General registration for the 2010 Beach to Beacon 10K race opens tomorrow, Saturday March 13th, at 8 a.m. EST. The Beach to Beacon race takes place on August 7th in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Registration for Cape Elizabeth residents only is now closed (they had a 24-hour window in which they could register before anyone else).

If you get shut out because the race has reached capacity, there's always the lottery. As the site says:

"[Lottery] Registration Opens when capacity is reached and closes Sunday, March 21 at Midnight EST. Lottery winners will be chosen Monday, March 22, 2010 and notified via email."

2010 Gasparilla Distance Classic Results

The first day of Tampa's annual running festival is in the books, and you can find 2010 Gasparilla Distance Classic results here. As of Saturday night, you'll find results for the 15K and 5K events. This includes the 5K, 15K, Wheel Chair 15K, 5K Teams, and 15K Teams results.

You can search for runners by different criteria, and you can also view Gasparilla Distance Classic results for previous years.

2010 Austin Marathon Results

2010 Spring Lake 5 - General Registration Opens Feb. 12th

NOTE: Entry to 2010 Spring Lake 5 is now filled, but you can still get into the race by signing up to raise money through one of the race's charity partners.

Most of the spots in the 2010 Spring Lake 5 mile race have been filled, but the remaining slots will be open starting on Friday morning, Feb. 12th at 5:00 a.m. - yes, that's what the Spring Lake 5 Web site says. Early registration opened to those who had run the race before, and the Web site says that that quota (7,000 participants) has been reached. 


Another 2,500 participants will be added through the general registration that beings Feb. 12th. So what about the extra 500 slots to make up the 10,000-runner field? I'm guessing those are reserved for people who sign up to run the Spring Lake 5 to benefit a charity.


As always, the Spring Lake 5 will take place the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, which this year is May 29th. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. at Ocean and Sussex Avenues in Spring Lake, New Jersey.

2010 Cherry Blossom Run Transfers Begin Today

The 2010 Cherry Blossom Run in Washington, D.C. has long been sold out, but today begins the transfer period. This means that people who have successfully gained entry to the race but can't make it can transfer their registration to another person. Check the Cherry Blossom number transfer info page for complete details, including rules, procedures, and an overview. You can transfer if you know someone who wants to run, or find someone who wants a transfer, or seek to get a transfer from a registered entrant.

The transfer period runs from Monday, February 1 at 10:00 A.M. until February 28 at 11:59 P.M. The 2010 Cherry Blossom Run takes place Sunday, April 11th and includes a 10 mile race and a 5K.
