Gebo Burka of Ethiopia won the men's division of today's L.A. Marathon, while countrywoman Amane Gobena came in first in the women's race.

The 2014 Napa Valley Marathon takes place Sunday, March 2nd, and you can track runners here. Sign up, and you'll get updates on athletes as they pass certain points on the course sent to you Facebook page, Twitter account, or mobile phone.

2014 Marine Corps Marathon Registration Opens Today - See Details Below

Relax... the Marine Corps Marathon is using a lottery system for registration this year. See details below.

The 2014 Marine Corps Marathon has gone to a lottery system for public registration—and it begins today at 12 Noon, Eastern time. Registration will remain open until Saturday, March 15th at Noon. This means no more frenzy with tens of thousands of runners trying to get on the website at the same time to enter through the previous first-come, first-served format.

Runners will learn whether they've gotten in on March 19th. The 2014 Marine Corps Marathon will be held on October 26th.

According to the Marine Corps Marathon website, this is the first time the race has used a lottery entry format since 2004. Find all the Marine Corps Marathon registration details here.  See the press release about 2014 Marine Corps Marathon registration here (PDF).

2014 Austin Marathon - Live Race Results

The 2014 Austin Marathon takes place Sunday, Feb. 16th, and if you're lucky you've been able to make it to the Texas capital despite all the bad weather in much of the country.

Once the Austin Marathon, half marathon, and other races are underway, check the results page to see live results.

Speaking of bad weather, the Austin Marathon organizers are enabling runners to defer their entry to 2015 if they can email proof of their flight cancellation.

 Forget about that groundhog seeing his shadow on Sunday morning. Feb. 2nd is the day that thousands of participants will do the 2014 Miami Marathon and half marathon. Here are some links for key information you'll need to know for the marathon:

Similar info is available for the half marathon. Go to the 2014 Miami Marathon home page 
and find "Half Marathon" under "Event Info" on the menu bar at the top.

The starting line for the marathon is at 601 Biscayne Blvd. in Miami, while the half starts at 301 Biscayne Blvd. Both races begin at 6:15 a.m. for runners, with the wheelchair races going off at 6:05.

2014 P.F. Chang's Rock & Roll Arizona Marathon - Live Race Results, Course Map, & More

You won't have to worry about any polar vortex at the 2014 P.F. Chang's Rock & Roll Arizona Marathon is coming up. This year's event takes place on Sunday, Jan. 19th, and below is some handy information about the race weekend.

There's a marathon, half marathon, and two-person half marathon relay. There's a new finish line this year, so if you've run one of the races before make sure you get familiar with this year's course maps, directions, etc. See these links for basic information:

Run into 2014: New Year's Eve Races in Central Park & Brooklyn

If running a fun, festive race is your idea of kicking off the new year, there are two events in New York City to check out. The Midnight Run in Central Park, put on by the New York Road Runners, is a longstanding annual event that attracts thousands of runners (many in costume) who run four miles in the iconic park, with DJ music and dancing preceding the race and continuing afterwards. (Before the race, there's a contest to judge the best costumes.) A fireworks show takes soon after the start of the race, which takes place at 11:59 p.m.

The Midnight Run isn't sold out as of 24 hours before the event, but you must register in person at the site (no more online registration). Event-day registration is $60 for NYRR members; $65 for non-members.

Over in Brooklyn, NYCRuns is once again holding its New Year's Eve 5K in Prospect Park at 11:15 p.m. It's said to be the only nighttime race all year in the famed Brooklyn park, and includes complimentary hot chocolate, sparkling cider, and other treats. Race-day registration is $40.
