2015 Rock & Roll San Antonio Marathon & Half - Race Results

Congrats to all participants in this weekend's 2015 Rock & Roll San Antonio Marathon and half marathon. Finisher times and photos are in, and the quickest way to find race results is to go to the results page and enter your bib number. You can view the leaderboard for both men and women at the page, too.

Much of the attention was on the half marathon, with would-be Olympians looking to tune up before the marathon trials in Los Angeles and the Olympics in Rio next this year. The American women were especially strong in San Antonio, with Kara Goucher rocking to the finish in a time of 71:10.  Canada's Sasha Gollish finished second in 72:35 (an amazing 9-minute PR for her), and two more top Americans, Shalane Flanagan and Amy Hastings, crossing the finish together in 72:42.

For the men, Americans swept the top three spots, with Aaron Braun first in a time of 64:11, Jeffrey Eggleston second in 65:44, and Phillip Baar in third with 66:39.

2015 Marine Corps Marathon - Race Results

Today's Marine Corps Marathon marked the 40th anniversary of the scenic Washington, D.C. rite of fall, which proudly bills itself as "The People's Marathon." If you ran the Marine Corps Marathon, check the results page to see how you did.

As you'd expect, you can search by name, bib number, state, age group, and other criteria. The middle drop-down bar lets you view results from previous years of the Marine Corps Marathon. Supposedly you can find the results for the 10K race here as well, though  the drop-down menu on the left offers "Marine Corps Marathon" as the only choice. When viewing results, the right-hand column denotes "Marathon" or "10K" under Event, which may be as close as you can get.

You can also use the MapTrack feature to see where your favorite runners are on the course, if they're still out there.

    Congrats, runners!

2015 London Marathon - RACE RESULTS, Runner Info, & More

    London Marathon logo
See links for must-know London Marathon information below.

For most runners, Sunday's London Marathon will be a major milestone in their lives. For British distance-running legend Paula Radcliffe, it will mark the end of her professional running career.

[UPDATE: 2015 London Marathon results posted.]

As for the rest of the thousands of runners, here are some links to must-know details you'll want to refer to to plan for the race and for helping your friends and family see you (and find you) on race day, April 26th.
The 41-year-old Radcliffe set the women's world record for the marathon more than a decade ago, and it's a mark that still stands. But she won't be running her final London Marathon up with the elite athletes, however. Having been hobbled by injuries the last few years, she'll be running the race among the masses. For a runner who's been an inspiration to so many female athletes, especially in Great Britain, it seems a fitting way to go out.

Good luck to all runners, of all paces and abilities, in Sunday's London Marathon!

2015 Boston Marathon - Race Results

    2015 Boston Marathon logo
See 2015 Boston Marathon results links below.

Congrats to everyone who completed today's B.A.A. Boston Marathon under cool and rainy conditions. Your winners were Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia on the men's side, running away with a time of 2:09:17, and Kenya's Caroline Rotich, who pulled away from Mare Dibaba near the finish to cross the finish line at 2:24:55.

Desisa's win was his second in three years. He won in the bombing-scarred Boston Marathon of 2013, and showed his classiness by donating his winning medal to the city of Boston as a sign of solidarity.

The top American finishers were Des Linden, who finished fourth overall in the women's race, and Dathan Ritzenhein, who came in seventh in the men's event. This was a great finish for Ritzenhein, who led the race for a while at one point. It was also a good finish for another male American, as last year's overall winner Meb Keflezighi came in behind Ritz in eighth place, despite having to stop to vomit five times.

And in another unforgettable, classy Meb moment, he found himself running next to American Hilary Dionne near the finish, and took her hand and raised it with his as they crossed the finish. (Dionne was the fourth American woman, and 15th woman overall.)

You'll find these and all results at the official Boston Marathon results list. Several ways to view the results:
Congrats to everyone who ran the 2015 Boston Marathon! Check the official Twitter account for the latest updates.

You'll find the MORE Women's Half Marathon results here. The weather was near ideal for today's race, with yesterday's temperatures approaching 80 degrees replaced with a race-time temp of 54 today.

Deena Kastor won today's race—her third MORE Women's Half Marathon title in a row—with a time of 1:12:51. There were just over 7,400 finishers at this morning's event. See a more complete write-up on the race at the NY Road Runners Club's site.

2015 Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run* -- Race Results

Congrats to all who ran the annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom races today in Washington, D.C. The marquee event, of course, is the Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run, but we had to put an asterisk next to it in the title of this post for one simple reason: today's race was more of a 9.5 miler.

As the results page notes, "Due to an emergency, the course was modified and was less than 10 miles. The exact distance will be posted here and results will be modified to the correct distances." The upside is that runners probably set new PRs for the 9.5-mile distance.

You'll find the results page here, or see below for specific results:
Let's hope that whatever emergency occurred in D.C. didn't ruin the runners' day, aside from making the course less than 10 full miles.

    2015 Nike Women's Race Series - Dates & Locations

    Nike women running photo
Nike has announced a series of women's races worldwide... but none in the U.S., so far.

What's going on with the Nike Women's Race Series? Last Fall, we noted that the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, a very popular event, was eliminated and replaced with a half marathon. In addition, a half marathon in Washington, D.C. was scrubbed.

A recent visit the the Nike women's running page shows a series of events scheduled in cities around the world for 2015. A race page invites runners to "Join the largest women's race series in the world, with distances ranging from 5K to 15K to Half Marathon."

As you can see, there's quite a broad worldwide reach. Ironically, only one is listed in the U.S.—San Francisco—and while it says "Details coming soon," it's the only race in that category for which no date is listed. See the Nike Women's Race Series race page for links to the races you can sign up for.

You can also check out the Nike+ Training Club events worldwide (which seem to be full-day training sessions).

    Races available for sign-up:
    • Guangzhou, April 18
    • Mexico City, April 26
    • Manila, May 9
    • Amsterdam, May 16
    • Seoul, May 23
    • Milan, June 5
    • Paris, June 7
    • Toronto, June 14
    • Berlin, June 20
    • London, June 21
    • Stockholm, June 27

Races that say "Details coming soon":
    • San Francisco (date not given)
    • Quito, May 17
    • Istanbul, June 6
    • Medellin, June 7
    • Moscow, June 21
Races for which registration is closed:
Nagoya, Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei (dates not shown)

We'll post further information on races and dates in the Nike Women's Race Series as we find them out.

The scene before the start of the 2014 Spring Lake 5. See how to register for the 2015 race below.

Once again, the best method to apply is through online registration, and it starts at 5 a.m. Eastern time Sunday morning, Feb. 1st. Registration will close when the capacity of 12,500 is reached (and it won't take long).

See more the website for more Spring Lake 5 registration details.

Go to http://runsignup.com/springlake5 at 5 a.m. to register. The entry fee for the five-mile race is
$40 (plus a $2.50 sign-up fee) and includes a 100% cotton, heavyweight t-shirt. You can also upgrade to a technical, wicking shirt ($46).

There are also kids' races for $15. Registration for this also begins at 5 a.m. on Feb. 1st.

Good luck, and see you at the Jersey Shore on May 23rd!
