UPDATE, Nov. 1st: NYC Marathon weather: The forecast calls for cold temperatures and windy conditions. In fact, the area is under a wind advisory from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The high temp for the day may not even hit 50, and at start time temperatures will be in the low 40s (but with the wind will feel like only a few degrees above freezing). See the New York Road Runners' update on NYC Marathon weather conditions and the start.

Dressing in layers is always a good idea for the NYC Marathon, but even moreso for this year's race. Good luck!

The NYC Marathon is back with a new look and a new sponsor for 2014, and here are some important details to know whether you're running or watching on Sunday, Nov. 2nd.
Besides the tens of thousands of everyday runners, the 2014 NYC Marathon will feature a solid roster of elite and professional runners, and you can learn about their stories here. This includes Deena Kastor, who is looking to set a women's masters record 13 years after she made her marathon debut in NY, and 39-year-old Boston Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi.

As for celebrities, the list includes such diverse names as actor Bill Murray and tennis great Caroline Wozniacki, who's raised more than $50,000 for a children's charity for running in the race.

See LetsRun.com's extensive coverage for more information on the NYC Marathon.

And, for the first time, a roster of former NBA and WNBA players running legs of the NYC Marathon as a relay (including Bernard King, Chris Mullin, former New York Liberty player and coach Katie Smith, and even NBA commissioner Adam Silver).

With these resources above, you'll be able to keep up with all the race-week events, as well as the big event on race day. Be sure to download the NYC Marathon mobile app lets track up to 10 runners, with splits every 5K as well as start time, half marathon, and finish. It also includes the race leaderboard, FAQs about the race, information about the race expo, and more.

Speaking of the race expo, it takes pace Thursday, Oct. 30th and the following two days at the Javits convention center on the West side of Manhattan.

The weather forecast currently calls for cool but windy conditions, so make sure you bring enough layers (whether you're running or watching). Good luck to everyone taking part in the 2014 NYC Marathon!
